Steele’s Island also provides the perfect setting for functions of any kind: an intimate beach or bush wedding, an engagement, a special birthday, an anniversary or family reunion.  

The large living and entertainment room will seat up to fifty guests comfortably and provides room for a DJ or band, and dancing. The bar alcove is adjacent to this area and the large deck overlooking the river and beach can also be accessed from these rooms. The Beach Cottage provides idyllic accommodation for the Bride and Groom and the wedding guests, international, interstate or local, can be accommodated in the Homestead.  

Guests may self-cater or wish to have a particular caterer provide for them during their stay, or for their special function.  Arrangements can be made for the caterer to visit the homestead prior to the function to inspect the facilities. 

To assist guests who are self-catering, the country kitchen, which is a chef’s delight, is equipped with three ovens, gas hot plates, three fridges and freezers, a microwave-convection oven and a dishwasher. Ample crockery, cutlery, serving utensils and dishes are available, together with tablecloths, additional timber chairs and trestle tables for indoor or outdoor dining. Two outdoor areas, shaded by gum trees and overlooking the bay, river and beach provide excellent outdoor carvery or barbecue facilities.
